RummageMap is a free community map for Winnipeg garage sales. This page explains, in plain language, what information we handle and why. We follow Canada's federal privacy law (PIPEDA).

What's public — on purpose

• Your sale listing: title, description, categories, photos, the sale address and its map pin, and dates/hours. A garage sale only works if people can find it, so the exact address is shown — same as posting in the Facebook group.
• Phone number: only if you type one in. Leave it blank and no phone is shown.

What's never public

• Your email address. We use it for exactly two things: sending your private manage link, and (if you opt in) a once-a-season heads-up email. It is never displayed, sold, or shared.

Photos

Photos are resized on your device before upload, which also removes hidden metadata such as the GPS location your camera may embed.

Location

"Near me" uses your device's location in your browser to sort sales by distance. Your location is used for that request and is not stored.

Cookies & analytics

We use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics (page views, no cross-site tracking, no ad cookies) to understand whether the map is useful. The security check on the post form is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile.

Retention & removal

Ended sales drop off the public map automatically. If you want a sale or its photos deleted entirely, use your manage link or email randal.boiteau@gmail.comand we'll handle it.

Email consent (CASL)

Manage-link emails are sent because you posted a sale. Season-reminder emails are sent only with your express opt-in, and every one includes an unsubscribe link.
